The Woods Project is making headway at one of our new partner schools, Jefferson Davis High School of HISD.  The club program has taken hold and students are improving their leadership and life skills via our outdoor programming.  Our club sponsor, Myla VanDuyn, is a biology teacher who wanted to take her students camping but lacked the resources to do it.  According to Myla, The Woods Project has not only helped her find the resources to get her students outdoors, but has also helped the students grow and become stronger people.

The Woods Project Branches Out!

This past Fall, the Woods Project successfully branched out into programming with middle school students through a partnership with Houston A Plus Challenge and the Boy Scouts of America.

The two weekends at Camp Strake were a reward for the hard working A Plus Scholars, boys the first weekend and girls the second, who showed "college track academic performance" and deserved a weekend in the woods!
